Shockwave therapy in Kelowna
Shockwave therapy delivers short bursts of acoustic energy to a painful tendon or connective-tissue area to stimulate the body's own repair response.
No referral needed. Direct billing to most insurers. Free changes up to 24 hours ahead.

What shockwave therapy actually involves
Shockwave therapy applies strong, brief energy pulses to the affected area with a handheld applicator. The pulses stimulate circulation and the cells responsible for bone and connective-tissue repair, which is why it is used for problems that have plateaued: long-standing tendon pain, heel and plantar fascia pain, and stubborn calcific or insertional irritation that has not responded to rest and exercise alone.
Treatment itself is brief and can be uncomfortable over the sore spot for a few seconds at a time. It is delivered at Kirschner by our kinesiologist and manual osteopathic practitioner, so the exercise side of the plan comes from the same person, and the number of 30-minute follow-ups is set at the first assessment.
Your first visit
The first visit is up to 45 minutes and includes a history, examination and treatment, so you leave knowing whether shockwave is the right tool for your problem. Follow-ups are 30 minutes. Shockwave is not used over a fresh injury, an infection, a pregnancy, or where you are on blood thinners without your doctor's guidance; say so at booking and we will advise.
