How much does a massage cost in Kelowna?

In short

At Back in Health in Kelowna, registered massage therapy costs $95 for 30 minutes, $115 for 45, $140 for 60, $160 for 75 and $195 for 90 minutes. Most BC extended health plans cover RMT treatment up to an annual dollar limit, and we bill many insurers directly, so what you pay at the desk is often only the part your plan does not cover.

Our massage rates

Prices are the same at both clinics, Glenmore and Kirschner, and the same for every style: deep tissue, Swedish, sports, prenatal, lymphatic drainage and TMJ work are all booked as a registered massage therapy appointment of the length you choose. Thirty minutes is $95, 45 minutes is $115, 60 minutes is $140, 75 minutes is $160 and 90 minutes is $195.

For a first visit we suggest 75 minutes. It leaves room for a proper history and assessment without eating into hands-on time.

What extended health changes

Most extended health plans in British Columbia cover registered massage therapy, usually as a yearly dollar amount rather than a set number of visits. Some cap each visit as well. Treatment has to be given by a Registered Massage Therapist to count, which every massage therapist at Back in Health is.

We bill many insurers directly. When your plan allows it, the insurer pays its share to the clinic and you pay the difference, rather than paying in full and waiting for a reimbursement. Bring your plan details to your first visit, or add them when you book online.

ICBC claims

After a car accident in BC, ICBC pre-approves a block of massage therapy and the clinic bills ICBC directly, with no doctor referral needed. Bring your claim number when you book. We do not currently accept WCB or WorkSafeBC claims.

Choosing a length

Thirty minutes suits one focused area, such as the neck and shoulders. Sixty minutes covers one or two regions properly. Seventy-five or 90 minutes is better for a first visit, for deep work across the back and legs, or simply when you want time to stop watching the clock. If your plan covers a fixed amount each year, a few longer visits can be better value than many short ones; it depends on what you are treating.
